About

Why this site exists

Cognitive science doesn't have one obvious front door. It's genuinely interdisciplinary — the same question about how minds work gets approached from psychology departments, philosophy departments, computer science labs, linguistics programs, and neuroscience institutes, each with their own conferences, journals, and jargon. This site exists to be a single, honest starting point across all of that: for researchers looking for the field's people and venues, for students weighing degree programs, and for anyone curious who just wants a place to begin.

What this site is not

It is not a replacement for the Cognitive Science Society, for the field's journals, or for Wikipedia and the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Every substantive claim on this site links to a primary source rather than restating it — we'd rather send you to the people who actually did the work.

How it's maintained

The site is mostly static, rebuilt from source files as content changes. The News and Events sections update as new items are added and verified against their original sources, not on a fixed publishing schedule.
